Only grading the 1st quarter this week—which admittedly leaves out a good bit of offensive fireworks. But the game was in garbage time as soon as the 2nd quarter started, and the opponent was obviously outclassed.
A byproduct of this abbreviated grading that I didn’t expect is that the grades are a little lower than they probably should be. Remember, the plusses and minuses are given for noticeably good or bad play, and with how bad KSU was, a lot of good play goes unnoticed. Most plays just look like they would on paper, which doesn’t make them stand out. On the other hand, any mistake is glaring, because it just shouldn’t happen against a team this poor.
Grading: Players are awarded +1 for noticeably good play, up to +2 for outstanding play (and -1 down to -2 for noticeably/outstandingly poor play). An average grade of 0.0 would mean you just did your job without standing out positively or negatively.

Overall Grades vs. Kent State
Nico’s grade looks too low. I probably should’ve given him a +2 on the deep in to Nimrod on drive 2, it was a crazy good throw. But the grade isn’t real far off the stat line either: Nico went 10-16 for 173 and a TD, with 31 yards on 5 carries. Considering we scored 51 points before pulling him, you’d think he numbers would be insane (they didn’t have to be with our run dominance in this game).
