Once again, if you are subscribed to this site, these profiles won’t be pushed out to your email every time I post one. Instead, I’m planning a weekly round-up of smaller posts and tidbits that aren’t major releases on the site. If you’re not subscribed, now would be a great time to do so!
Working again on the backlog of UT football commits. This time it’s DL big man Charles House:
House comes to the Vols as a highly-rated DL prospect, particularly well thought of by On3, being a top 300 player overall and a top-30 DL in the 2025 class. The offer list is impressive, with several other SEC schools, including UGA and Alabama.
House plays his high school ball at North Mecklenburg, in the 3A/4A Queen City conference in North Carolina. The Vikings went went 5-6 in 2023, losing in the first round of the playoffs. House totaled 22 tackles on the year, with 7 TFLs and 3 sacks.
Hudl Film
You can see the full film here. A couple highlights:
That clip shows House’s relentlessness. One OL gets bulldozed. A second one tries to help, but gets shucked like a corncob as House bears down on and obliterates the QB.
And this one shows pure explosiveness. House explodes off the line and through the ball carrier in what seems like a single motion. It even looks like he might be a tick slow coming off the ball on this play, but he makes up for it with an instant read of the play and explosion through the RB. Obviously SEC offensive lines will offer more resistance, but House shows tremendous instinct and ability that will be the baseline he grows from in Knoxville.

Reminder that this is not a prediction. This is a comparison to past Tennessee recruits based on position, size, and rating at the time they were recruited. Justin Harrell is the closest comp size- and rating-wise. Harrell had a fantastic career at Tennessee (75 tackles, 13 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 INT) and went on to play several seasons for Green Bay. Kivon Bennett, who came to UT in 2017 and registered 6.5 sacks while playing in 28 games for the Vols (and was still playing in 2022, having followed Butch Jones to Arkansas State) another good comparison size/ratings wise, though Bennett was probably a touch smaller than House.
